From Baltimore to the Newsroom
Adelle Waldman was born in 1977 and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. She graduated from Brown University and earned a master's degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. Before turning to fiction, she worked as a reporter for The New Orleans Times-Picayune and The Wall Street Journal, training that shows up clearly in the observational precision of her later novels.
The Love Affairs of Nathaniel P.
Waldman achieved major literary fame with her 2013 debut novel, The Love Affairs of Nathaniel P., which became a genuine cultural phenomenon. Critics praised its sharp, almost anthropological, deeply witty dissection of the modern, progressive "literary man" dating in Brooklyn, exposing the wide gap between intellectual sophistication and emotional maturity.

Waldman is known for social satire with real bite, trained on class, modern relationships, and the world of work.
